Oh my dear - Lia Sophia Party

I haven’t had this much fun in a loooooooooong time! Yesterday I hosted a Lia Sophia party, Amy just started selling it when it sounded like a good excuse to get a girls party! I was close to pee on my pants several times!

We got a chocolate fountain and a ton of different things to deep in; strawberries, grapes, apples, pineapples, shortbread cookies, graham crackers, marshmallows, angel food cake, cheesecake brownie, waffle cookies, pretzels, popcorn and I also made pumpkin bread and some other few salty snacks. We went thru quite a few bottles of wine and set in the garage for cigars.

Simone was *SO* funny, as drunk as could be she kept us entertained until past 2am…

Of course today I’m exhausted and with a little hangover.

Dan took the boys to C&C until late that night, and when he stoped home to get the kids to bed Benji enjoyed whatever was  left from the chocolate fountain!

Updates

Both boys have being enjoying stroller rides in the mornings. Angela – our new neighbor from the cul-d-sac up the street goes for walks with me a few mornings a week. Benji cries when we are done lol

Angela is a very nice woman, she was in the navy and has 2 daughters and we connect in many levels. I absolutely enjoy spending time with her and she is the kind of friend who just bring you up and each and every subject. Someone you want to be around kwim?

Benji lately:  Absolutely in love with trains. He wants trains everything! Will throw a fit anytime he has to leave a store or place that has any kind of train…

I just got him “Harold” and he enjoys “flying” too!  Not just Thomas but any train – he is obsessed with it! I need to take him out on a date sometime and take him to real track and trains by union center; I think he’ll enjoy that a lot.

LOVES to have friends over – specially older kids for some reason…

He is obsessed with “Areo” cookies. He wants nothing else but Areos as a treat! Lol He also loves donuts – He cracks me up when we are in a bakery or a bakery section at the grocery he’ll ask for “Mac donuts”

So – I made a mistake. Benji got a bike this summer and the helmet he had was just right for him, he was always just riding around our neighborhood so I never forced him to wear (he would when he saw other kids wearing them too).

This past week and felt – bad, on a hill head first. I freaked and prohibit him to ride without the helmet – I even got him a new one – a Thomas the train one but still… the hard head kid went back to the kiddy tricycle but will NOT wear the helmet! ( Foooo -me doing a frustrated sound right now…)

He is doing great with numbers and his ABC’s. He’ll sing the Abc’s song and you can understand most of it. Numbers he’ll go to 13 in English and 5 in Portuguese. He also loves singing “Finkle finkle little star” & “Moon moon moon” by Laurie Berkner.

Had a visit to the ped. Got some shots (now he is at 3 datps, 3 polio, 1 pcv and 1 hib – no MMR or chicken pox – very good for a 2.5 yr old imo) He is 95% in height – 60% weight; everything right on schedule and coming soon a visit to the dentist! He has being very cuddling and obedient (except the times we need him to be the most – lol)

Noah… is hilarious – busy guy always all over the place. Still don’t talk much – “Dada” for Dady, Nana for Banana & maybe if I’m lucky a “mama” here and there…

Playing good with Benji and he just loves to lay down, look at the ceiling and talk for minutes at the time…

Officially stopped breastfeeding at 13 mos and very happy with cow and soy milk, still loves the breasts. He is 85% in height and 50% in weight (he lost a pound or two after stopped nursing). Had his 2sd dtap and 2sd polio, first pcv & hib. (Got vaccines much earlier then Benji but seems to be doing ok)

Dan - Is going thru a interviewing process with a nice (pretty large) local company and we are excited!

As usual, enjoying cooking for us and friends and into NFL, doing FF and baseball.

Going above & beyond to help with house work and keeping it clean/organized. Spending every extra time with the boys (they absolutely love that man!)

We choose only to watch a few shows this fall. The Office, Survivor, Kid Nation and Worst Kitchen’s Nightmare

Me? Same old, same old. Eating like crazy – no self control when it comes to sweets…

Happy as can be with my family. We all have our issues and problems but the blessing of a healthy family is the biggest blessing and that will overcome any other “bad” news.

Trying to help out with $, and trying to help with advertising to sell out house but more than anything just resting on the Lord because his plan is perfect and always better then whatever we can imagine!

God is *SO* beyond good to us and I’m just thankful for everything we have.

Really enjoying my morning walks with Angela, enjoying my “alone time” too. Lots of fun with the 2 mom’s group and reconnecting with old good friends as well.

D-cluttering, working on my ideas for x-mas and enjoying the last beautiful days of summer and coming fall. (I love fall!)

Everyone else…

Dary has her surgery this week. I’m nervous but also confident that she’ll be fine – Again God is in control. (Dara has surgery as well…)

Dad is still doing chemo but seem to react very well with this medication

Mom working hard as usual and being there for dad

Claudia did quit civil eng. She’ll be starting on Physical Education in January and will try out for the Fire Department program.

Tati starts college next week for Broadcast and I’m happy for her!  I’m trying to be a good Godmother & take Thomas out once a week to play and see new things and places… he is growing fast.

Daniela’s family is in town from Brazil and I absolutely love spending time with them – Every time I get to see them we all have so much fun! This Sunday was our turn to host our FUNSS group lunch….

Frances was feeling ok this  week so she took the boys to a pumpkin patch - they LOVED IT!

I’m proud to an American!

It was a fun day. I went to BS this morning it was *very* good, rushed home and got dressed to go to the Court House for my citizenship ceremony. What a blessing to get my citizenship so soon! I applied last May and just about 10 days ago got my last test. I know of people how applied way before me and still don’t have it!  I picked up Nicole by Union Center Blvd in the way to downtown and we had to deal with some major traffic on I-75.
Rushing thru downtown we looked like two crazy ladies – (like Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen 10 years from now, after two kids and 150#’s heavier) in a move…
On our dresses, high heals, holding our purses and each other’s hands running thru traffic and crossing streets, asking people for direction – I mean you probably don’t find it funny but it was HILARIUS!
As we left the parking lot we were totally lost we asked a group of woman (while we were still running)
Me: What street is this?
Woman: Walnut
M: Where is 5th?
W: That way
M: Thaaaaaaaaaaanks! As we ran even faster, trying to no hit other people (or flash our underwear!) * The ladies were
cracking up!* [image]
Man it started being funny! We got there like 12:59 – we were supposed to be there at 1PM.  A 3 hour long ceremony this little lady sitting by me asked:
L: Where are you from?
Me: Brazil
L: I should have known by your dress!!!
The Judge was very nice – she said some beautiful thing that got everyone with watery eyes! She read a letter from GWB, made everyone stand up & say where they were from (Nicole and I were the only ones from Brazil ) and it was a blessing that we were both there because we were each other’s family and support. Most of the people had their families there taking pictures and stuff.
Shashi this lady who works with Dan as a coincidence was there too getting her citizenship!
We got our “Birth Certificate”, a pic with the Judge who looked at us and said: “Ohh, the Brazilians girls!” LOL
They had some stale cookies and punch for everyone. -We registered to vote- and came home.
In the parking lot we got in the elevator with this 2 well dressed man and we started joking about they being famous – They were laughing and being nice, one kept on saying he was just the driver and the other one was the famous one They both had REDS stuff on – so I told them about my Johnny Bench story that I was from Brazil [image]
[Later today I learned that was the Cincinnati reds general manager Wayne Krivsky!]
Patty had this DELICIOUS cake, flowers and flags waiting for me at the office! So thoughtful of her!
I picked up the boys at Daniela’s and we came home to have a drink, celebrate and relax! [image] Fun fun!
I sang (we are the champions):  ” I’m an American - my friends…. and I’llll be fighting until the end..
I’m an American,  I’m an American… cause I’m an American!
and this other song by Toby Keith didn’t leave my head all day:
Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)

American Girls and American Guys
We’ll always stand up and salute
We’ll always recognize
When we see Old Glory Flying
There’s a lot of men dead
So we can sleep in peace at night
When we lay down our head

My daddy served in the army
Where he lost his right eye
But he flew a flag out in our yard
Until the day that he died
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy
In the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love
Has fallen under attack
A mighty sucker punch came flyin’ in
From somewhere in the back
Soon as we could see clearly
Through our big black eye
Man, we lit up your world
Like the 4th of July

Justice will be served
And the battle will rage
This big dog will fight
When you rattle his cage
And you’ll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
‘Cause we’ll put a boot in your ass
It’s the American way

Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shakin’ her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, it’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringin’ her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue
